Liton picks up his second ODI ton
Liton brought up his hundred off 95 deliveries, hitting 10 fours and a six.
The last time Liton Das scored a hundred in Bangladesh colours, it was a classic and one of the finest knock Bangladesh cricket had seen till date. His scintillating knock of 121 was of 117 deliveries, consisting of 12 fours and a couple of sixes.
His innings did not lead to the Tigers becoming Champions. But his wide array of shots and brilliant stroke-making had shown Bangladesh hopes that a world-beater was in their ranks.
But since then, Liton managed no centuries and only three fifties in the 15 ODIs he played. His highest was an unbeaten 94 against West Indies in the 2019 Cricket World Cup and he had scored two fifties against Zimbabwe and Ireland.

And after a long break of more than a year, Liton has picked up his second ODI ton of his career. As Liton was on 99, Donald Tiripano bowled a delivery on to his pads and the well-set batsman flicked it gleefully to reach triple figures. He picked up his hundred off 95 deliveries and hit ten fours and a six.
Liton's hundred meant he is the first opener for Bangladesh to score a hundred since October 26, 2018, when Imrul Kayes scored a ton against Zimbabwe.
Liton was the only mainstay in Bangladesh's innings after their skipper Mashrafe Mortaza opted to bat first as all of Tamim Iqbal, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim got starts but could not carry on.
