Liton Das set for 100th ODI appearance
He will become the 14th Bangladeshi batter to reach the landmark of 100 matches.
Bangladesh batter Liton Das is set to reach a significant career milestone, as he prepares to play his 100th ODI when Bangladesh take on New Zealand in the second match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Monday).
He will become the 14th Bangladeshi batter to reach the landmark of 100 matches.
Since his debut in 2015, Liton has scored 2,700 runs in 99 matches at an average of 30.33, including five centuries.
However, his recent performances have been a cause for concern, with the right-hander failing to score a half-century in his last 18 innings.
His last half-century came during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against India in Pune, when he made 66.
Since then, he has managed only 295 runs, including a sequence of nine single-digit scores, which led to his brief omission from the national side.
Although he has since returned to the national fold, Liton is yet to rediscover the fluent form that once made him a key figure in Bangladesh's ODI setup.
