Gayle confirms BBPL participation for Chattogram

Ending all speculations, West Indies batting maestro Chris Gayle confirmed his participation in the upcoming Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) for Chattogram Challengers.

Chattogram Challengers team management confirmed the news on Monday and cleared all the doubts regarding Gayle's participation in the tournament that was raised after he recently said that he wants to take break from cricket.

The Caribbean talisman also stated that he was quite surprised as to how his name came up in the players' draft of the T20 tournament in Bangladesh.

There were media reports that the West Indian was not happy with the remuneration that was offered to him and so wanted to withdraw his name from the tournament.

"We are happy to announce that Gayle will play for us," said Challengers managing director KM Rifatuzzaman.

"He is having some hamstring problem so we will not get him from the beginning but we are hopeful to have him at some point in the tournament," he said.
