BCB takes action: 8 players, one official banned for third division misconduct

On 18th November, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced one-year bans for eight cricketers and a club official for breaching the board's code of conduct.
The penalties, including financial fines, were issued following an altercation during a Dhaka Third Division Cricket League match earlier in the week.

Players from both sides became involved in an on-field brawl, prompting the BCB to launch an investigation.
Following a thorough review of evidence, the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) Technical Committee found eight players and one official guilty of Level-4 disciplinary violations under Article 2.19 of the BCB Code of Conduct.
The players banned are Yasir Arafat, Rifat Al Imon (Anik), Tasin Ahmed Ronbi, Rabbi Hasan, and Parvez Ahmed Joy from Tejgaon Cricket Academy, along with Rana Khan, Saiful Islam Shawon, and Mohammad Hridoy from Sapphire Sporting Club. Additionally, Tejgaon official Robin has been penalised.
Each individual has also been fined a minimum of BDT 50,000. While Level-4 violations can attract a lifetime ban, the board opted for a lighter penalty in this instance.
BCB President Faruque Ahmed addressed the matter in a press release, stating, "The BCB will not tolerate any breaches of discipline in domestic cricket. Let this serve as a warning to all players and officials that the board will enforce strict measures against misconduct."
This incident marks one of the most significant disciplinary actions in domestic cricket in recent years, reflecting the board's commitment to maintaining standards of behaviour both on and off the field.
