WWE Backlash: Cena seals final win against Orton

In a night charged with emotion and legacy, John Cena and Randy Orton clashed one final time at WWE Backlash, closing the book on a rivalry that has defined an entire generation.

For 25 years, Cena and Orton have stood as the pillars of WWE, rising from the 'Ruthless Aggression' era together to become generational icons. But tonight, the roles were reversed. In front of his hometown crowd of St Louis, Orton stood as the fan-favourite, while Cena, now firmly in heel territory, embraced the boos with a smirk

The match was brutal, personal, and soaked in history. Cena was put through two tables and pushed to his limit. Yet just when Orton had momentum, R-Truth shocked the crowd by interfering—not to attack, but to shield his childhood hero, Cena. 

The distraction gave Cena the opening he needed. With the referee down, he hit a low blow and levelled Orton with the championship belt.

Cena stood tall, soaking in the moment. However, as the chorus of boos blended with a final serenade of 'Thank you Cena' chants from the St Louis faithful, there was a flicker of regret in Cena's eyes. 

Then he turned, and was gone.
