Taylor Swift buys back her first six albums

Taylor Swift has officially bought back the rights to her first six albums from Shamrock Capital, ending a six-year battle over her music catalogue. The singer described the deal as a dream come true and said she now owns everything from the songs and music videos to album art and concert films.
The catalogue was originally sold without Swift's consent in 2019 to Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings and later to Shamrock. Swift had long spoken out against the sales, saying she had tried and failed to buy back her work under fair terms.
She thanked Shamrock for offering her the chance to own her music outright, with no strings attached. Swift plans to reissue the original albums alongside her ongoing 'Taylor's Version' re-recordings. She confirmed that 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' and her self-titled debut will still be released — though not right away.
This landmark move makes Swift the sole owner of her entire body of work, something few major artists achieve. The saga has inspired many musicians to negotiate for their own master rights.
Swift celebrated the deal as a victory for creative ownership and a joyful end to a long fight. "All the music I've ever made… now belongs… to me," she wrote.
