Tame Impala’s new album arrives in October

Tame Impala, the psychedelic project of Kevin Parker, has confirmed the release of his fifth studio album 'Deadbeat', arriving 17 October. The record is led by the singles 'End of Summer' and 'Loser,' the latter released on 3 September with a music video directed by Julian Kristofski and featuring actor Joe Keery.
Recorded in Fremantle and Parker's Wave House studio in Injidup during early 2025, Deadbeat is described as a departure that draws heavily from Western Australia's bush doof scene — outdoor electronic raves set in remote landscapes.
According to a statement, the album positions Tame Impala as "a future primitive rave act," with lyrics circling themes of stagnation, self-doubt, and cycles of negativity.
This marks Parker's first full-length project since 2020's The Slow Rush. The new release is available for pre-order in multiple formats, including exclusive coloured vinyl editions through Urban Outfitters and indie record stores. Limited numbered cassettes will also be sold, offering collectors another way to tap into the next era of Tame Impala.
