Salman Shah: Bangladesh’s cinema icon’s 53rd birthday today

Salman Shah, a cinematic icon and the legendary figure often hailed as the 'Prince of Bangladeshi Cinema' would've been 53 years today. Be it any genre—drama, comedy, action, romance, and more—Shah would have nailed it.

In just three short years, he starred in an impressive 27 films!

His debut film was 'Keyamat Theke Keyamat' released in 1993, quickly followed by a string of hits like 'Denmohor', 'Shopner Thikana', 'Ei Ghor Ei Shongshar', 'Sotter Mrittu Nei',  and 'Anondo Osru'.

The sudden rise to stardom was fueled not only by his versatile acting but also by his unique fashion sense, profound interest in music, and deep appreciation for arts and culture. Even after two decades of his untimely death, Salman Shah remains a prominent reference in discussions about 90's fashion.

Tragically, on 6 September, Shah was found dead in his apartment, a devastating loss that sent shockwaves through the nation and brought the film industry to a standstill. Even though the officials declared it a suicidal case; the circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery, with his mother, Neela Chowdhury, asserting that he was murdered.

Even now, we, the fans, remember the extraordinary man for his incomparable talent and enduring impact as a cinematic icon.
