The next Game of Thrones saga to unfold in 2026
Fans of Game of Thrones can rejoice – the next chapter in Westeros' saga, 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', will premiere on HBO Max in January 2026.
The news was confirmed by Game of Throne's official X account on 6 October, alongside the release of the show's first poster.
Based on George R R Martin's 'Tales of Dunk and Egg' novellas, the series follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire Aegon Targaryen as they journey across Westeros long before the events of the original Game of Thrones.

The show's first trailer is expected to arrive this weekend, during its New York Comic-Con panel on 9 October. With only three months to go before its debut, anticipation is high to see how this new prequel expands the rich lore of Westeros.
