Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 joins growing wave of Xbox games on PS5

'Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024' will take off on PlayStation 5 on 8 December 2025, continuing a growing trend of Xbox exclusives crossing over to Sony's console. The news was revealed during the PlayStation State of Play showcase with a new trailer, confirming full DualSense support and a free PlayStation VR2 update set for 2026.
This move follows recent arrivals of former Xbox staples like 'Sea of Thieves', 'Hi-Fi Rush', and 'Gears of War: Reloaded' on PS5, signalling Microsoft's broader strategy to reach wider audiences. Flight Simulator's PlayStation edition will include adaptive triggers, gyro controls, and ATC chatter through the controller speaker, aiming to recreate the feel of a real cockpit.
Developed by Asobo Studio with Microsoft Game Studios, the PS5 version will mirror the PC and Xbox releases with ongoing World and Sim Updates. The announcement cements Microsoft's shift toward platform inclusivity over console exclusivity.
