Linkin Park has released their latest single, Heavy Is the Crown, marking a return to their rap/rock roots, reports Billboard.

The track, unveiled on Tuesday (24 September), is the official anthem for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship and serves as the second taste of the band's upcoming album From Zero, due out on 15 November.

Following the success of The Emptiness Machine, which marked Linkin Park's first new music in seven years, Heavy Is the Crown showcases the band's signature hard-hitting sound, blending aggressive rap verses with a high-energy, screamed chorus.

The single features Emily Armstrong, former vocalist of Dead Sara, who has taken on co-lead singer duties following the passing of Chester Bennington.

"This is what you asked for, heavy is the crown/ Fire in the sunrise, ashes rainin' down," Armstrong yells in the chorus, drawing parallels to the band's 2007 hit Bleed It Out from Minutes to Midnight.

Heavy Is the Crown is also the band's first collaboration with Riot Games, creators of the globally popular multiplayer game League of Legends.
