Gulmohar premieres on 15 May

Syed Ahmed Shawki's latest Chorki original series, Gulmohar, will be released on 15 May. The trailer, launched on 8 May, hints at a gripping family drama following a father's death entangled with inheritance disputes, hidden secrets, and political undertones.

Co-written by Shawki and Maruf Pratik, the series explores the weight of legacy within a family.
"My story has property disputes and mistrust, but what makes it different is the idea that descendants must also carry the burden of their forefathers' shadows," said Shawki.
Described as his most ambitious work yet, Shawki emphasises the scale through its character depth: "Previously, I've told single-protagonist stories. But Gulmohar has many layered characters, each with unique crises."
The cast includes Intekhab Dinar, Sara Zaker, Sushama Sarker, Mir Naufel Ashrafi Jisan, and Sarika Sabah. With themes of silence, secrecy, and legacy, Gulmohar promises a powerful, multi-dimensional narrative.
