Geralt returns in The Witcher 3 Remastered this September

Geralt of Rivia is returning to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with a major remastered edition and a new expansion that will take players on another adventure across the Continent.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered launches on 29 September for Xbox Series X|S, bringing a range of visual and gameplay improvements while retaining the original game's core experience. The update introduces improved textures, reworked lighting, enhanced ray tracing and smoother animations, alongside changes to combat, movement and traversal.

Combat has been redesigned to feel more responsive, with new finishing moves and a dynamic camera that adjusts depending on the number of enemies Geralt faces. Character progression has also received a major overhaul, with redesigned skill trees, new abilities and greater flexibility when building Geralt.

The remaster also adds transmogrification, allowing players to customise the appearance of weapons and armour, as well as cross-platform mod support and an expanded photo mode. Xbox Play Anywhere support will allow progress to carry across Xbox, PC and compatible handheld devices.

Meanwhile, the new Songs of the Past expansion is scheduled for 2027. Geralt will travel to Letten, Dandelion's homeland, where a hidden threat and new monsters await. The expansion will also introduce new mutagens and a chain weapon inspired by the original Witcher game.
