The Witcher 3 Remastered launches with major upgrades
CD Projekt has released the full list of improvements coming with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, which launches as a free update on 29 September for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
The update introduces changes across four areas — visuals, combat, quality of life and miscellaneous features.
Visual upgrades include improved textures, foliage, lighting, rendering and ray tracing.
PC players will also get path tracing, while the PS5 Pro version supports PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) alongside ray tracing at 60 frames per second.
Combat has received a major overhaul, including a rebuilt skill tree, revamped animations, new finishers, an adaptive camera and updated enemy behaviour.
The five Witcher Signs — Aard, Igni, Yrden, Quen and Axii — have also received new visual effects.
Other changes include redesigned movement animations for Geralt and Roach, revamped Witcher Senses, an updated interface and a transmog system that lets players change the appearance of weapons and armour without altering their stats.
The remaster also expands Photo Mode and adds cross-platform mod support through Mod.io.
A new accessibility feature, Bard's Ballad, adjusts selected gameplay elements for players with cognitive limitations, including automatic self-healing.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version additionally supports motion controls, gyro aiming, mouse controls and touchscreen navigation.
