Final season of The Boys set for April 2026
The fifth and final season of The Boys will begin streaming on Prime Video in April 2026, following the release of its teaser trailer at CCXP in São Paulo. The preview hints at a bleak turn for Billy Butcher and his scattered allies, who now appear to be living under Homelander's dominance.
The opening episode will air on 8 April, with the finale scheduled for 20 May. The season picks up after both The Boys Season 4 and Gen V Season 2, continuing Amazon's interconnected Super universe.
The trailer features Karl Urban's Butcher attempting to rally his diminished team, while Anthony Starr's Homelander maintains control. Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, is shown frozen once again under Homelander's watch. Brief appearances from Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins — both former Supernatural stars — confirm their involvement in undisclosed roles. One sequence shows Homelander brutally attacking an unidentified victim, foreshadowing a violent final confrontation.
According to the official synopsis, the season depicts a world fully subject to Homelander's volatile rule. With Hughie, Mother's Milk and Frenchie imprisoned, Annie leading a struggling resistance, and Kimiko missing, Butcher's return — and his willingness to deploy a Supe-killing virus — sets off events that will reshape the world.
The franchise will continue with Vought Rising, a prequel set in the 1950s focusing on Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
