The Boys wraps final season, creator bids farewell

'The Boys' series is officially coming to an end. Creator and showrunner Eric Kripke announced on Instagram that filming for the fifth and final season has wrapped. Sharing a photo from the set, Kripke wrote, "This is the last time I'll ever be on this set. It'll be torn down soon. It's bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude."
The hit Amazon Prime series first premiered in 2019 and follows a group of vigilantes battling corrupt superheroes. Based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, it stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty and others.
Speaking at a panel in late 2024, Kripke said the final season gave him creative freedom: "You don't have to keep storylines going, which lets you blow the doors off it."
The Emmy-winning show has received seven nominations across its four acclaimed seasons. The grand finale is set to air soon.
