Dua Lipa granted Kosovo citizenship

Global pop star Dua Lipa has officially been granted citizenship of Kosovo, with a heartwarming tribute from a local children's choir marking the occasion on 31 July.
Born in London to Kosovar Albanian parents, the 29-year-old singer has long embraced her heritage, often supporting Kosovar causes and using her platform to spotlight the country. The honour was conferred by Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani, who praised Lipa as "one of the most iconic cultural and artistic personalities in our country's history."
"Welcome back home, Dua!" President Osmani wrote on X. "She's carried Kosovo's story with strength, pride, and grace—from global stages to the hearts of millions."

The ceremony featured an adorable performance by a children's choir, adding to the emotional moment. Lipa, who received Albanian citizenship in 2022, now holds citizenship in both of her ancestral homelands.
Grateful and visibly moved, Dua Lipa joins a proud tradition of artists representing Kosovo on the world stage. The nation, in turn, celebrates her as a symbol of pride, perseverance, and global recognition.
