Christian Bale joins Leonardo DiCaprio in 'Heat' sequel
This mirrors the original film’s star-studded ensemble, which first brought Robert De Niro and Al Pacino together onscreen
The long-anticipated sequel to "Heat," 31 years in the making, has brought Christian Bale on board to join Leonardo DiCaprio, Austin Butler, Adam Driver, Ana de Armas, and Al Pacino.
This mirrors the original film's star-studded ensemble, which first brought Robert De Niro and Al Pacino together onscreen.
Bale, long speculated as a potential cast member for the sequel, will reunite with Michael Mann after years, following their earlier collaboration on 2009's "Public Enemies" also starring Johnny Depp.
Amid all the excitement, in addition to DiCaprio and Bale, rumours indicate that Jeremy Allen White, Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum are all in various stages of talks to join the "Heat" sequel.
It will be based on Mann's novel "Heat 2" (2022), a crime novel and literary debut, which he co-wrote alongside Meg Gardiner back in 2020.
DiCaprio has previously assured fans that it will be its own unique entity while also paying homage to the original.
