Berklee Indian Ensemble's debut album 'Shuruaat', which featured Armeen Musa's song 'Jaago Piya', was nominated for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards for 'Best Global Music Album' on Tuesday, 15 November.

Armeen, who is a Berklee College of Music alum and a member of the vibrant Berklee Indian Ensemble, voiced the track Jaago Piya in 2016. The song was written by her mother, popular Nazrul singer Nashid Kamal. Armeen-Nashid's presence in Shuruaat makes them the first Bangladeshis ever to be nominated for a Grammy.

Shuruaat is Berklee Indian Ensemble's debut album, which was released in July of this year. The album is a compilation of 10 of the ensemble's original songs.
