The graduation parade of the 40th BCS (Police) batch of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) and sub-inspectors (SIs), scheduled to be held at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi's Sardah, has been postponed once again.

According to separate notifications from the Police Headquarters yesterday (18 November), the parade of ASPs and SIs, which was scheduled for 24 and 26 November respectively, has been postponed due to "unavoidable circumstances".

A graduation parade was scheduled for 20 October this year upon completion of the training, but the parade was abruptly postponed the night before, a notification stated.

The new date for the parade will be announced later.

The notification also mentioned that the training activities will continue in the meantime.

Meanwhile, the Police Academy has discharged three more trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) from the 40th cadet batch on charges of breaching discipline.

"They were discharged from their ongoing training on charges of breaching discipline. The discharged trainee SIs were receiving basic training at the academy," the Police Headquarters in a notification said yesterday.

The three trainee sub-inspectors were discharged from their training yesterday as they failed to give proper answers to show-cause notices served earlier for breaching discipline on the training ground, it added.

The show-cause notices, served to the three trainee SIs on 12 November for creating chaos during a march on the same day, asked them to explain why they will not be discharged from the training.

On 21 October, a total of 252 trainee sub-inspectors under the batch were discharged for breaching discipline. On 4 November, another 58 trainee SIs were discharged from the cadet batch on similar allegations.

However, the discharged trainees have denied these allegations as baseless.

In total, 313 trainees from this batch have been discharged.
