Ex-minister Qamrul detained

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) yesterday detained former minister Qamrul Islam from the capital's Uttara.
Talibur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the DMP, confirmed the matter.
He also said several cases have been filed against the former minister, but it is yet to be determined in which one he would be arrested.
Qamrul Islam is a former member of parliament representing the Dhaka-2 constituency.

He served as the food minister from 2014 to 2018.
He was the state minister of law, justice and parliamentary affairs in the second cabinet of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
