80 govt officials made OSD, 101 contractual appointments scrapped in 3 months

A total of 80 government officials, from assistant secretary to secretary levels, have been made officers on special duty (OSD) while the contractual appointments of 101 officials were scrapped in three months till October after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government.

This information was disclosed in a report published by the Public Administration Ministry today (17 November).

According to the report, a total of 768 government officials got promotion or new postings during the tenure of the current interim government.

Among them, 12 government officials were promoted to senior secretaries or secretaries, three under grade-1, 135 made additional secretaries, 226 joint secretaries, 125 deputy secretaries, 221 made senior assistant secretaries (non-cadre) and 37 assistant secretaries (non-cadre).

Four government employees were sent on forced leave while 80 officials were made OSD, it said.

During this period, the contractual appointments of 101 government officials were scrapped while departmental action was taken against seven government officials.

Besides, 1,870 government officials were transferred to different level of the administration while 65 government officials were appointed in important posts.
