Covid-19 test: DGHS revokes all permissions for JKG Health Care
Police, on Tuesday, detained five former JKG Health Care employees for their alleged involvement in providing test results without testing samples
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has revoked the permission that allowed JKG Health Care to collect Covid-19 samples, set up sample collection centres and provide training.
The DGHS in this regard issued a circular, signed by its Additional Director General Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, on Wednesday.
Jobeda Khatun Shastha Seba (JKG) Health Care, a sister concern of Oval Group, received the permission to test Covid-19 samples in April this year.

JKG set up 44 sample collection booths in six spots of Dhaka and Narayanganj to collect the samples from potential Covid-19 patients for free.
They operated on condition that all collected samples would have to be sent to the laboratories designated by the government for novel coronavirus testing.
JKG Health Care came under discussion when police, on Tuesday, detained five people in the capital for their alleged involvement in providing Covid-19 test results without testing samples.
They prepared novel coronavirus test reports based on symptoms. If those tested showed symptoms similar to those of Covid-19, they gave them positive reports. Similarly, when those tested did not show symptoms, they received negative reports.
All five detainees used to work at JKG Health Care and left their job on April 12.
