Sramik League leader arrested for killing student in Savar
Police will produce him before the court and seek remand today (13 October)

Police have arrested Savar Upazila Sramik League President Shawkat Hossain on the charge of killing a student during the anti-discrimination student movement.
He was arrested from his own village Jadurchar of Tetuljhora union yesterday evening (12 October) based on secret information, said M Jewel Mia, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model police station.
Police will produce him before the court and seek remand today (13 October).

Shawkat Hossain, son of late Abdur Razzaque, hailed from Jadurchar village of Tetuljhora union, is also elder brother of Savar Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary and Bhakurta union council Chairman Liakat Hossain.
A case was filed against him for killing a student named Sajjad on 11 August.
