7 establishments fined for selling food without price list, expiry date in Bagerhat

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined seven establishments in Khulna's Bagerhat Tk20,000 each for selling food items without price lists and expiry dates.
The shops are Bimatra Store, Lata Store, Mayer Doa Store, Akbar Store, Satkhira Mishti Bhandar, Tarikul Store, and Masum Store.
During a raid today [7 October] in Chitalmari market of the upazila, the establishments have been fined under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, said Abdullah Al Imran, assistant director of the department.

"They paid the fine and pledged to refrain from such irregularities in the future."
He added, "Some expired products were destroyed after the raid."
