Police have recovered the body of NTV News Editor Shimanto Khokon from his Chamelibagh residence in the capital this morning (1 October).

Bacchu Mia, a duty officer of Paltan police station, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard. 

Based on preliminary reports, doctors are suspecting it to be case of suicide.

According to police, Khokon's room had been locked since the morning. 

When family members could not get him to open the door, they broke it down and found his body.

Originally from Damitha union in Tarail upazila, Kishoreganj, Shimanto Khokon was a former general secretary of the Kishoreganj Journalists' Forum in Dhaka.
