The Bangladesh Police has announced the recruitment of Trainee Recruit Constables (TRC), with applications to be accepted from 1 to 15 October.
A circular regarding the TRC recruitment has been issued recently. However, the exact number of constables to be recruited in this phase has yet to be determined, confirmed Sarwar Murshed Shamim, additional DIG of the Recruitment and Career Planning Unit at Police Headquarters.
"We have published the recruitment announcement through the media and on our website, and the application procedure will continue until 15 October. During this time, internal processes will be completed, after which the number of recruits will be finalised," said the additional DIG.

In the wake of the Hasina government's overthrow by a student-led uprising on 5 August, which led to the establishment of a transitional government under Dr Yunus, concerns regarding police morale and the chain of command have emerged.
There have been reports of constables and sub-inspectors defying orders from senior officials.
This is the first recruitment announcement for the police under the new government.
When asked if this is a special recruitment initiative, Additional DIG Sarwar Murshed Shamim clarified, "This is not a special recruitment. This announcement is part of our routine recruitment process."
Application requirements
Interested candidates must have passed the SSC or an equivalent examination with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants must be permanent residents of Bangladesh and unmarried; divorced individuals are ineligible.
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 20 years as of 15 October 2024. Existing quotas for freedom fighters and other categories will be applied.
Selection process
Candidates will undergo a seven-step selection process: Preliminary screening; physical measurement and document verification, including a physical fitness test; written examination; psychological and oral examination; initial selection; health check and police verification; and final inclusion in training.
Successful candidates must complete these steps to secure their appointment.
