Bandarban tourist deaths: 'Tour Expert' admin Borsha Islam gets bail
Senior Judicial Magistrate ASM Emran of the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Bandarban passed the order

A Bandarban court has granted bail to Borsha Islam, an admin of the travel group 'Tour Expert,' who was arrested in connection with the deaths of two tourists during a hike in the remote Alikadam hills.
Senior Judicial Magistrate ASM Emran of the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Bandarban passed the order after Borsha was produced in the court this afternoon (15 June).
Md Kamrul Alam, general registration officer (GRO) of the court police, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
According to local guides from Alikadam upazila, a 33-member group set off on a trekking expedition organised by Borsha Islam on the night of 8 June.
On 10 June, Borsha led a 12-member subgroup along the Andharmanik trail accompanied by a local guide, while the remaining 20 — including Smriti Islam — were sent back to Alikadam under the care of an inexperienced individual.
On the afternoon of 11 June, a sudden landslide struck the group near Shamuk Jharna, sweeping away Smriti, Sheikh Jubairul Islam, and Hasan Chowdhury Shuvo. The bodies of Smriti and Jubairul were recovered on 12 and 13 June, respectively, while Hasan remains missing.
Following the incident, Smriti Islam's father Habibur Rahman filed a case against Borsha Islam at Alikadam Police Station yesterday. Police subsequently arrested her in connection with the case.
