Hundreds of Bangladeshis staged a demonstration at the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) at JFP in Dhaka demanding Indian visas.

This afternoon, they were seen chanting slogans such as, "Indian collaborators, beware", "One demand, we want visa".

Some policemen were also seen with them but they did not try to stop the demonstrators.

One of the visa aspirants, who did not wish to be named, told TBS that after applying for an Indian visa, one has to wait for several months in some cases.

"We do not know if India does this with other countries of the world. Our demand is that even if the visa is not granted, arrangements should be made to return the passport immediately. Visa not granted, passport withheld, that is not acceptable," he said.

Although several calls were made to the Bhatara Police Station to inquire about the details, no one agreed to give an official statement.
