98% work of HSIA third terminal completed: CAAB chairman

Ninety-eight percent of the construction work on the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) has been completed, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan said today (24 August).
The CAAB chairman said this while visiting the ongoing construction work of the third terminal at the HSIA.
During the visit, the CAAB boss inspected the newly constructed facilities, including the check-in counters, immigration areas, scanners, boarding bridges, arrival and departure zones, aircraft parking aprons, and road networks at Terminal 3.

Monjur Kabir discussed the progress, quality, and timely completion of the terminal with the officers and employees involved in the project.
He underscored the terminal's importance as a critical gateway for the country's economic growth and global connectivity, urging the completion of the remaining work as soon as possible.
Expressing satisfaction with the overall progress, the CAAB chairman thanked everyone involved in the project.
The third terminal project, with a budget of Tk 21,300 crore, began on December 28, 2019. The government contributed Tk 5,000 crore, while the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provided the remaining funds.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the soft launch of the much anticipated third terminal on October 6 last year.
