IGP Abdullah Al Mamun's tenure extended by one year

The government has extended the tenure of Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun by one year.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Friday.
Abdullah's new tenure will begin on 12 July 2024 and will expire on 11 July 2025 or from his date of joining in continuation of his current contract, according to the notification.

Earlier, he got the extension for one and a half years as the IGP.
Al-Mamun took over as the IGP on 30 September 2022 by replacing Benazir Ahmed.
