Lalua Union Parishad member Md Rafiqul Islam said, "More than 350 people are staying in the Charipara Cyclone Shelter since last night. But the shelter is on the verge of river erosion."

On the other hand, in Patuakhali Rangabali upazila, Majherchar, Khalgora Gangipara, Char Kashem, Char Anda and many other villages have been inundated due to high tides. As a result, about 740 houses in all the villages have been flooded, said the Rangabali Upazila Nirbahi Officer.

He also said that people have been evacuated from the islands of Rangabali upazila and taken to shelters and they have been given dry food and pure water.
