On Sunday, so far 13 fire incidents, including 4 in Dhaka, occurred between 5am to 6pm

A total of 45 fire incidents carried out by "riotous mobs" were reported across the country in the last two days between 1pm Saturday to 6pm Sunday, said Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Twenty-seven of the incidents were reported in the capital, according to a press release issued by the fire service media cell on Sunday.

As per the fire service, 41 fire incidents occurred in Dhaka division, one in Rajshahi division, two in Khulna and one in Rangpur during the period, damaging 19 buses, three microbuses, three ambulances, one truck, seven motorcycles, three pick-ups and one CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

In addition, police boxes, power offices, bus counters, and political party offices were set on fire.

On Sunday, so far 13 fire incidents, including 4 in Dhaka, occurred between 5am to 6pm, said the media release.

Earlier, on Saturday afternoon, a water truck of the fire service was vandalised and set on fire by "riotous mobs" on its way back after extinguishing a fire under the Shajahanpur flyover in the capital, injuring a fire service official and a driver, added the release.
