Two ‘robbers’ lynched in Pabna

Two suspected robbers were beaten to death by an angry mob at Santhia upazila in Pabna early Saturday.

The deceased Shahin alias Holka Shahin, 45, of Joragachha area and Machir alias Kalu, 35, of Daramuda village of the upazila were the members of local extremist party, claimed Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station.

He said that four members of the party went to rob the house of one Siddique in Canalpara village in the upazila. Two of them jumped into a nearby canal when locals started shouting sensing their presence.  However, the other two managed to flee the scene.
