4 DMCH doctors home-quarantined

Four doctors of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have been advised to stay in home quarantine for 14 days as they came into contact with four patients, who were found coronavirus positive afterwards.

Confirming the matter, DMCH Principal Professor Khan Abul Kalam Azad said, "The patients came to our hospital with pneumonia. However, we sent their samples to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for coronavirus test."

"Later the patients were tested positive with coronavirus. So, as a precaution, we advised the doctors, who treated the corona positive patients at DMCH, to stay in 14-day home quarantine," Professor Khan Abul Kalam Azad added.

He also requested patients with early symptoms of coronavirus to go to four designated hospitals for treatment and not to hide information if they have returned from abroad.

Around 43 people are in institutional quarantine, while 16 are isolated at different government hospitals, according to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

About 198,178 people around the world have been infected with the deadly virus and 7,954 deaths were reportedly globally till date.
