PM releases commemorative stamp, coins on Mujib Borsho

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today released a Taka 10 commemorative postage stamp and a Taka 10 first day cover and a data card of Taka 5 denomination marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The premier also released Taka 100 commemorative note and Tk 200 commemorative bank note as well as Tk 100 commemorative gold coin and Tk 100 commemorative silver coin from her official Ganabhaban residence here this afternoon on the occasion of the Mujib Borsho, PM's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhwat Moon said.

A special canceller was used on the occasion of the releasing of the postage stamp, first day cover and data card.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar, PM's Adviser HT Imam, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Finance Secretary Abdur Rouf Talukder, Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Secretary Nur Ur Rahman, Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir and Director General of Bangladesh Post Office Sudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra were present.

Sheikh Hasina also unveiled a souvenir titled "Koti Manusher Kanthaswar" published by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee.

President of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Professor Mohammad Rafiqul Islam and Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury were present.

At that time a song titled 'Shono ekti Mujiborer theke lokkho Mujiborer' was played.

During the time, the prime minister put emphasis on preserving all Liberation War-related songs including those of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and publicized the songs so that those are not lost in the course of time, Shakhwat Moon said.
