Set in a small town, the story of "Donor" revolves around Muffazal Karim (Tariq Anam Khan), who is extremely unwell after both his kidneys failed. At the beginning of the story, he is adamant about not taking a kidney from his only son Adnan (Yash Rohan).

A distant relative - Kasim Ali (Fazlur Rahman Babu), arranges for a kidney for Karim in exchange for a large sum of money. The donor of the kidney is Kasim's daughter Asma (Orchita Sporshia). As the plot unfolds, the story takes many twists and turns and ends in a surprising note.

Directed by Nurul Alam Atique, Donor was a thoroughly enjoyable drama and Atique's direction gave it a realistic feel. The cinematography and art design did not fail viewers' expectations either. Some of the camera work and framing demonstrated Atique's signature style of visual story-telling.

Sound design and the "on-set" sound are two of the most noticeable aspects of the production. Sound work of such quality and dubbing is a rare feat of achievement in any Bangladeshi production. The dialogues also remained relevant and consistent with the scenes.

Veteran actor Tariq Anam Khan carried his character to perfection. The way he delivered the dialogues in the emotional scenes with Yash is testament to his grasp of the role he plays in Donor.

As Kasim Ali, Fazlur Rahman Babu appears authentic. Babu's body language and gestures merged flawlessly with Kasim's character and the dialogues.

Young actors Yash and Sporshia's performance as a couple felt like a breath of fresh air on screen. However, there is still room for improvement for Yash in delivering the dialogues. Sporshia gave her character "Asma" life and portrayed it with sheer brilliance.

Streaming platform for Bangla language content Hoichoi brought back its anthology tv series titled "Panch Phoron" this February on Valentine's Day.

Like the previous season, "Panch Phoron 2" consists of five episodes directed by five different directors. Donor, a Bangladeshi production, is a part of the series.

Bangladeshi directors Nurul Alam Atique and Giasuddin Selim directed two of the episodes in the series.

Atique's "Donor" portrays the emotional aspects of the relationship between a father and his son through beautiful cinematic language.

The episode casts Tariq Anam Khan, Yash Rohan, Orchita Sporshia, and Fazlur Rahman Babu.

The runtime of Donor is around 29 minutes.

This original Bangladeshi production on Hoichoi deserves a 4 out of 5 stars for its great production value, storytelling and acting.
