US-Bangla Airlines, one of the country's private carriers, is going to add two Airbus A330s as part of its plan to increase flight frequency on international routes.

The newly added Airbus A330-200 would arrive in May this year and would be used to connect Dhaka with Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam of Saudi Arabia.

They will be the airlines' first wide-body jet(s) with a total of 436 passenger seats, said a press release on Monday.

The US-Bangla Airlines plans to operate flights to various destinations in Saudi Arabia to meet the expectations of Bangladeshi Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, and expatriate workers.

"Passengers travel to various destinations in Saudi Arabia through third carriers from Bangladesh, spending extra fares and extra time in transit. To minimise Bangladeshi passengers' suffering, the airline has a plan to operate flights to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam from next June," reads the release.

US-Bangla Airlines currently operates seven Boeing 737-800s, seven ATR72-600s, and three DHC-8-Q400s on scheduled flights throughout Bangladesh as well as overseas countries.

Currently, US-Bangla is operating regular flights on all domestic and international routes including Kolkata, Chennai, Male, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Guangzhou, China.

This month, the private airline is going to add another ATR 72-600 and another Boeing 737-800 to strengthen its fleet.
