6 Saudi, Dubai returnees home quarantined in Kurigram
“None of them has been found positive for the novel coronavirus after the initial test”
Six Saudi Arabia and Dubai returnees have been kept under home-quarantine in Kurigram as a precautionary measure to stop the novel coronavirus spread.
"None of them has been found positive for the novel coronavirus after the initial test," Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Nazrul Islam said.
"There is no coronavirus testing-kits at any hospitals outside Dhaka. The Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has been informed to collect samples of the returnees," he added.

"Five of them, aged between 40 and 59, returned on March 4 and 5 from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah and two others are Dubai returnees who arrived home on March 8," he added.
Our local health staff are constantly monitoring them, he added.
Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr Habibur Rahman said, "A total of 31 beds have been prepared in Kurigram hospitals as a precautionary measure.
Earlier on March 8, Bangladesh reported its first three cases of coronavirus, whereas two of them have completely recovered.
Globally, at least 145,317 people have been diagnosed with the virus and the death toll reached to 5,415 as of March 14, 2020.
