Prime mover-trailer workers withdraw strike after 4 days
They were striking for the past four days demanding joining letters and identity cards and raise in salary
Prime mover-trailer drivers and workers have withdrawn their strike today following assurance from the authorities of meeting their demands.
"We have withdrawn our work abstention from today after assurance from the Chattogram Port chairman, other higher officials and members of Bangladesh Inland Container Depos Association (BICDA)," said Moinuddin, president of Bangladesh Prime Mover-Trailers Workers Union.
They were striking for the past four days demanding joining letters and identity cards and raise in salary.

Meanwhile, at least 850 vehicles stopped transporting goods in 18 depos due to the strike.
Exporters have faced extreme loss because the ships left port without loading their shipment. Around 9,000 containers are stuck for the strike.
The workers are currently getting paid between Tk6,000 and Tk10,000. They also get extra money for every trip that generates them an earning of Tk25,000-Tk30,000 per month.
