DU IR alumni association gets new committee

NGO Bureau Director General KM Abdus Salam and NBR Commissioner of Customs and VAT Dr Mainul Khan have been elected as president and secretary general of Dhaka University International Relations Alumni Association's new committee.

Dr Mainul Khan was re-elected as secretary general.

The 41-member new committee was announced on February 22 at Fortis Sports Club in Dhaka.

The vice-presidents of the committee are International Relations Department Professor Md Delwar Hossain, AIIMS CEO Yawar Syed, DIG Manzoor Qader Khan and Tax Commissioner Atian Nahar.

Police Super Md Matiur Rahman was elected cultural secretary of the organisation, Additional Secretary Nilima Akhter was elected secretary of international relations secretary, and UGC Senior Assistant Secretary Dr Muhibul Ahsan was elected as the office secretary.

The five-member AGM subcommittee, led by Professor Ramjul Haque, announced the name of a new 41-member alumni committee for 2020-2021 in the general meeting and it as unanimously approved.

AGM was chaired by former departing president Kazi Majedur Rahman, former MD of Dhaka Stock Exchange.

The meeting was attended by members of the Alumni Association, who are involved in various positions of the government, including civil administration, business.

The meeting ended with a pleasant cultural event.
