Nayeem Hasan credited the bowling of Taijul Islam for his wickets and bowling in partnerships helped in the first day of the one-off Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at Mirpur on Saturday.
"Taijul Bhai bowled well from the other end, so I got the wickets from my end. It's about bowling in partnerships," Nayeem said at the post-day press-conference.
Nayeem bowled for 32 overs straight from one end and ended up taking four wickets including that of Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine, who scored a century to give Zimbabwe a solid foundation.

"The plan I had was to bowl in a particular area. As spinners, we need to vary our pace and bowl consistently in the right spot," Nayeem explained.

"I'm used to bowling long spells in the National League and if you can keep patient and bowl in the right spot, the wickets will come. I got 21 wickets in the National League and bowled a lot there so that gave me the confidence to do well here."
With Shakib Al Hasan out of all forms of cricket because of a ban imposed by the ICC, Nayeem admitted that the premier all-rounder's absence was felt.
"If Shakib Bhai was here, it would have been better and if he's here then he also adds to the batting too," Nayeem concluded
