Police arrested Mohammad Shafi, 50, and his son, Shakib Hossain, over the incident.

Chawkbazar Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ferdous Jahan said, "Sohag slapped Shafi before being hit by him with an iron rod over a dispute. When Shafi's son Shakib learned of the matter, he raced to the spot and stabbed Sohag in the chest."

"Sohag was rushed to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. In this case, legal action is being taken," added Ferdous Jahan.
