DSA’s shortcomings to be resolved through ‘trial and error’
The sections of the Digital Security Act that stir criticism and create obstacles to the right to freedom of expression will be resolved, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said Monday.
He came up with the assurance while attending a bilateral meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet in Geneva, Switzerland.
The minister said Digital Security Act is formulated to control cybercrime, not to create obstacles for rights to freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

“We discussed the sections with the representatives of civil society and print and electronic media while formulating the act but some sections of stakeholders put up objections. It will be figured out through trial and error method,” law minister said.
A delegation led by the law minster is in Geneva to attend the review meeting of the United Nations' Convention against Torture on July 30 and 31.
