Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Yasir Ali Chowdhury stole the show on the second day of the third round of the 8th Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) as both of them picked up hundreds. 

Sunzamul Islam also picked up five wickets as the day ended with all four teams still in contention for a win. 

In the match between Walton Central Zone and BCB South Zone, Central Zone were ahead by 330 runs by the end of day's play. South Zone started the day on 29-2 in reply to Central Zone's 235 but surprisingly declared on 114-4 despite trailing by 121 runs.

Riding on Shanto's unbeaten 122, Central Zone managed to push their lead to 330 at stumps. No other batsman could reach the fifty mark for Central Zone. Nasum Ahmed picked up three wickets for South Zone with Shafiul Islam picking up a couple. 

In the other match, Islami Bank East Zone ended the day on 261-7 and are trailing by 11 runs against BCB North Zone. 

North Zone were all-out for 272 but managed to peg East Zone back as they were 3-2 by the end of the first day. East Zone lost another wicket at the start of the second day as they were reduced to 27-3 but Imrul Kayes and Yasir put up a 137-run stand to cut through North Zone's lead. 

Imrul scored 76 before getting dismissed but Yasir went on to pick up his hundred. Yasir stayed unbeaten on 134 till stumps and Nayeem Hasan was keeping him company. 

Sunzamul picked up five wickets for North Zone with Sanjit Saha picking up the rest. 

South Zone and East Zone currently top the table with 16.39 and 13.06 points respectively. The top two of the round-robin stage will compete in the final scheduled from February 21.
