However, the SSC English examination scheduled for 25 June will take place a day earlier for the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, the minister said.

As many as 20,21,868 students will sit for the SSC, Madrasah and Technical examinations this year from 29,591 institutions, and 3,790 centres under 11 education boards across the country.

Of the total number of students, 15,99,711 students will sit for the SSC exams, 2,68,495 will sit for the Dakhil exams, and 1,53,662 students will sit for the technical board's examinations. Some 367 students will sit for their exams at 8 foreign centres.

However, the total number of examinees this year is lower by 221,386 than last year.

For the Dakhil examinations under the Madrasah Board, the theoretical portion will take place from 19 June to 6 July, and the practical portion of the exam will take place from 7 July to 17 July.

The theoretical portion of the Technical Education Board examinations will take place from 19 June to 6 July, and the practical examinations will take place from 7 July to 14 July but the dates are subject to change, said the education minister.

All coaching centres will be closed from 15 June to 7 July to curb any possibility of question paper leaks and irregularities, she said.
