Bangladesh U-19 dismantle Zimbabwe to start World Cup
Chasing down the revised target of 130, Bangladesh U-19 chased it down within the 12th over.
Bangladesh U-19 team have kicked off their ICC U-19 World Cup campaign with an easy win over Zimbabwe as the young Tigers reigned victorious by 9 wickets (D/L) in a rainstruck match at Potchefstroom.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Akbar Ali put Zimbabwe in to bat first. Zimbabwe were off to a good start as they were 59-1 after the powerplay. But soon after that, they started to lose wickets as they were reduced to 137-6 before rain interrupted.
The rain made sure that Zimbabwe did not require to bat again and the revised target for the Bangladesh side was 130 from 22 overs.

Chasing 130, Bangladesh were off to a flyer as Shahriar Tanzid scored a blistering 32 off 10 deliveries before getting out. Tanzid wreaked havoc in the the second over as he hit Dylan Grant for three sixes and two fours to take 28 from the over.
From there on, Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Parvez Hossain Emon put the Zimbabwean bowlers to the sword and ensured that they chased the target within the 12th over with 64 deliveries and nine wickets still in hand.
Parvez was adjudged man of the match for his unbeaten knock of 58 from 33 deliveries.
Bangladesh will take on Scotland in their next match of their World Cup campaign. They had lost one of their warm-up matches and tied the other one against Australia.
