Walton introduces first-ever Bangla voice-controlled TV

For the first time, the country's electronics giant Walton has released a smart television that can be controlled fully through voice command in Bangla.

Earlier, users of Walton smart televisions could search any content on YouTube or internet browsers through Bangla voice command. But this latest model enables viewers to operate all functions of television by using Bangla voice command.

The 39-inch television set is also budget-friendly compared to other local as well as foreign brands. After a flat discount on the occasion of the ongoing Dhaka International Trade Fair, the price of this model stands at Tk26,910. 

This television model has 1 GB Ram, 8 GB Rom, and A53 Quad-core processor in it. It can be controlled with two more languages -- Hindi and English. 

People have been showing keen interest in Walton's new android TV, WEAF-39V.

Abdullah Alif, a private job holder, was seen checking out the voice command feature at the Walton pavilion at the trade fair by addressing it in Bangla through TV remote.

He said, "The feature is so cool and seems very user-friendly. The price is also competitive as compared with other brands. I think it will be the best choice for middle-income people like me." 

In his comments on the subject, Md Sayful Islam, Deputy Assistant Director of Walton, said, "We add the Bangla voice feature command from a sense of our social responsibility. 

"It is not only urban people but also people in the rural areas who are now using our products.  For them, it's hard to handle a TV or search for anything in English. As a local brand we always try to serve people by giving them what they need and that is why we have come up with this innovation."

The price of the TV has been fixed through taking into consideration people in the lower and middle income groups, he said, adding, "we can sell it at a cheap price because we have manufactured this TV in Bangladesh." 

Additionally, one can enjoy the Equal Monthly Installment (EMI) facility in all of Walton's products at the trade fair. 

In a previous such fair, Walton sold about 1,000 television sets. This year, the group expects to sell around 1,500 televisions. 

Like Walton, almost all brands participating in the trade fair have released new models of television at the fair.

Samsung released two new models of QLED 4k TVs. These TVs use 4K AI Quantum Processor but they do not disclose the Ram and Rom of their TVs.

Samsung TVs also have a voice command feature in such languages as English, Deutsch, French and Chinese but they are not featured with the Bangla language option. 

Samsung is offering a Tk70,000 discount for these two 65-inch 4K smart television models. After discount, the prices of these two models stand at Tk3,29,900 and Tk4,29,900 respectively. On other televisions, Samsung is offering discounts between Tk3,000 and Tk38,000 at the fair. 

Samsung has also introduced a QLED 8K television, the price of which has been set at Tk17,90,000. 

Omar Shichell, Brand Promoter of Samsung, said, "We launch our products by mainly targeting the higher classes of society. We always try to maintain international standards with our products in order to remain competitive in the global market."

The Japanese company Sony has released two new smart TV models, one being 55-inch and the other 65-inch, at the ongoing Dhaka trade fair with some attractive offers. The price of the 55-inch TV is Tk6,12,900. But if anyone exchanges his/her existing TV with this one, he/she will get it at Tk3,90,000.

Similarly, one can exchange one's old running or out-of-order television with a new one. The prices vary under different offers from Sony. 

SK Mesba-Ul-Alam, sales executive of Sony Rangs Electronics, said, "We are also offering foreign tour offers to people buying these newly released televisions from us. We have a selective buyers circle, who are showing good interest in our products."

The newly-released televisions of Sony have voice search options but not the voice command option.
