Two hundred and forty-seven cartons of Esse cigarettes worth Tk4.5 lakh were seized from a passenger of an Air Arabia flight at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Monday.

Intelligence officials seized the cigarettes from Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, a resident of Chattogram's Fatikchhari upazila, said Customs Deputy Commissioner Riyadul Islam.

"Measures are being taken as per the customs law in connection with the incident," he added.
