Openers Saif Hasan and Soumya Sarker built a solid 44 run opening stand.

Soumya departed after scoring 27. Saif was run out for 33.

Then, skipper Nazmul Hossain played a captain's knock and batted the team to victory, with a useful contribution from Yasir Ali.

Nazmul scored 35* and Ali was out for 19.

Earlier, Bangladesh captain won the toss and put Sri Lanka to bat in Kirtipur.

Lankans could not take the early initiative in front of a disciplined Bangladesh bowling attack.

Hasan Mahmud and Tanvir Islam kept the Lankan score below par.

Mahmud took 3 wickets for 20 and Tanvir took two wickets for 28.

Sri Lanka only managed a score of 122, before getting all out on the last ball of the innings.

Mahmud was the player of the final for his bowling efforts.

With the gold in men's cricket Bangladesh have now won 19 gold medals.

This is their highest gold medal tally in SA Games, beating the previous 18 from the 2010 edition.
